Please Pick Project is founded on one basic premise: we all deserve equal access to real, healthy food. With that in mind, we sought to create organic sharing gardens in safe, unused lawn space within reach of hungry passersby. These gardens make healthy food visible, available, and totally free to everyone.

It began with a few gardens offering peas and kale to curious passersby. Month by month, gardens popped up in front yards, at civic centers, at the library, at local landmarks, and even in a few new towns. People did their grocery shopping right from the soil. Kids plucked their after school snacks from the vine on the way home from school. Growers and harvesters connected more deeply with the earth and with one another.  And, an edible village was born...
